Last we heard of Compa was back in 2014, when he dropped a couple of 12”s – and we’d been beginning to worry about the producer’s whereabouts. Thankfully, the Manchester dubstepper is back in the game with a brand new release, saluting the early sound of low-end indebted to the likes of Mala, Skream and Loefah.
Four-tracker ‘Truth In Sound’ has emerged on the former’s legendary Deep Medi, and harks back to those aforementioned early days; the altered product of a dubplate that Compa sent through to the label boss back in 2013.
‘Four Four Claps’, much like its name, starts out on an uncharacteristic four-to-the-floor beat, before dissolving into some weighty 140 that’ll make you get to the nearest available speaker stack and bathe in its glorious vibrations.
